Your citations should sync between both softwares. You can continue to use Mendeley Desktop or the newer Mendeley Reference Manager.
Login into Mendeley Desktop and install the Word plugin using these instructions.
Use the "Forgot Password" option when logging in to the application to create a separate password or contact Mendeley support. If you have been logging into Mendeley with your MIT kerberos account, you will need a separate username and password to use Mendeley Desktop.If you see a Mac security error when trying to install, you can dismiss the message using these instructions.
